Donald Penn Is Serious About His Weight

One of the major talking points during the offseason was Donald Penn‘s RFA status and whether or not he deserved a big-time contract. It got kind of ugly, with Mark Dominik intentionally spreading misinformation about being able to fine Penn even though he was unsigned and giving two different stories about his weight. But all that was smoothed over in a “business is business” kind of way and a deal for a relatively humble long-term contract was hammered out. And Penn is showing that not every player who gets a long-term deal turns into a lazy sack of **** as soon as he signs. Some actually live up to it.
