Tim Tebow and his Denver Broncos may have gotten worked by the New England Patriots on Saturday, but that probably hasn’t quelled Tebowmania.

You can count billionaire and megalomaniac Donald Trump among Tebow’s supporters. Whether that’s good or not, we’re not sure, but Trump just paid a lot of dough for some Tebow gear.

Fortunately, it was for a good cause.

Trump paid $12,000 for an autographed Tebow jersey and helmet on Saturday at an auction for Susan G. Komen For The Cure, a breast cancer research charity.

The Trumpster came out the winner of a bidding battle and probably totally overpaid for the items he won, but hell, he can afford it and the money went to a noble endeavor.

Autographed Tebow helmet – $789

Autographed Tebow jersey – $925

Although we didn’t know Trump was a Tebow fan, he does have football connections. Trump owned the New Jersey Generals, a USFL team. Trump signed both Doug Flutie and Herschel Walker, who earned a then-surprising $1 million a year. He’s also widely believed to have led the league to its ultimate demise because of his gigantic ego. That’s another story, though.

As far as the Tebow garb, it was probably a good investment. Broncos exec John Elway said Tebow will come into training camp as the team’s undisputed No. 1 quarterback next year.

Patriots vs. Broncos: Why You Should Root For the Broncos (Even If You Hate Tim Tebow)

I know you hate him, but he needs to win tonight. I know, I know…it seems like an impossible choice. In tonight’s AFC Divisional game, who should you root for? On one side, you have the absolutely loathsome New England Patriots. That contemptible bunch of cheaters (let’s not ever forget Spygate) led by their pretty-boy quarterback and miserable prick of a coach. And don’t...

Disciplined approach keys Pats defense early

By Tim BrittonFOXBORO, Mass. -- All week long, the Patriots preached defensive discipline against the various looks presented by the Broncos running game. That focus paid off on the field, with New England stifling Denver's option attack on the ground. Whereas zone reads and options were reasonably effective early in these two teams' first meeting, the Broncos had difficulty...
