Donovan McNabb is Messing with Greg Blache's Mind

Donovan McNabb and the Philadelphia Eagles threw the first pass in the 2009 NFL campaign. They are messing with the minds of the Washington Redskins' Greg Blache and every other defensive coordinator on the Eagles' schedule.McNabb hints that both and and Michael Vick could be on the field at the same time according to an Associated Press story publishes on SI.com today. "I'll be a receiver. I might be a tight end. I might be a running back," he said with a smile. "You never know where I'll be."The story adds that it's unlikely that Michael Vick would push McNabb off the field at quarterback, but the Eagles brought Vick in to add a new dimension to its offense.Micheal Vick has to show that he's in condition for pro football after a two year layoff. Only the Eagles have a clue about that.Any thought cycles that opposing defensive coordinators spend preparing for the Vick threat diverts attention from Brian Westbrook. Clever. Very Clever. It could all blow up in McNabb's face, though.The last time McNabb lobbied for the Eagles to sign a big name the team signed Terrell Owens. How did that turn out, Donovan?Of course, the Eagles haven't made the Super Bowl since Terrible Owens was catching balls with broken bones in his foot.Hmmm. The Eagles are using Michael Vick to mess with me too.NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says he will make a final decision on Vick's reinstatement by the sixth week of the regular season. If I were Daniel Snyder, I'd be on the phone to Goodell right now lobbying for early reinstatement of Mr. Vick. If Goodell takes all six weeks to make that that decision, Vick could see the field for the first time against the Redskins October 26 on Monday Night Football. What drama. What theater. What viewership. What a mess. I don't want to be the first team to see Vick in action. I want the Redskins to see game tape first. I want Greg Blache to gameplan.Roger Goodell is messing with me too.
