Donovan McNabb is set to retire today as a Philadelphia Eagle. There will be a press conference at 10am this morning at the NovaCare Complex where McNabb will formally announce his retirement.
Like Michael Vick, McNabb was a polarizing figure during his tenure with the Eagles, albeit for completely different reasons.
His relationship with the fans has always been a subject of controversy. He loved the fans, he always had some disdain for the fans. The fans loved him, the fans couldn’t stand him.
Did he ever really get over the draft day booing? Logically you would think so, but McNabb does appear to have a quirky personality and has said some really odd things over the course of his career.
Regardless, for the most part, the majority of fans appreciated him. And when I say majority, it’s probably like a 60/40 ratio because there were plenty who didn’t like him and thought he was a choker and cry baby.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin's season ended before it even really began when he was carted off the field after crumpling to the ground while running a route during 7 on 7 drills during Saturday's practice. According to Adam Caplan of The Sideline View, Eagles wide receiver Arrelious Benn is out for one to two weeks with a hyper-extended knee.
The could use a veteran like Benn to step up and fill Jeremy Maclin’s shoes now that he’s done for the season with a torn ACL.
Benn’s absence will only help Jason Avant and Riley Cooper.

Donovan McNabb to retire as an Philadelphia Eagle on Monday. He holds just about every passing record in Philly, he was a great player for the Eagles and he should retire as an Eagle. significant injury of the season, as the team lost wide receiver Jeremy Maclin

I guess Chip Kelly decided to limit the actual hitting and tackling this past Sunday at the public training camp session held at the Linc.
Probably a wise decision, I suppose. Not that the devastating knee injury to Jeremy Maclin on Saturday had anything to do with hitting or tackling. It did not. Still, there was a squeamish feeling surrounding the Linc on Sunday.

If there's one thing coach Andy Reid's history with the Philadelphia Eagles proves, it's that he loves versatile running backs who are just as comfortable bursting around the edge for huge runs as they are setting up as wide receivers and hauling in rainbows down the seam.
That role is now in the hands of...
