You’ve been hearing it ever since the Giants crushed the Texans, 34-10, on Sunday. “Trap game.” It’s a term that basically means that the Giants may expect to coast to victory against perennial doormats the Detroit Lions.  In other words, they could be coasting as such and have a trap door appear out of nowhere and stick them with a big “L” instead of the expected “W.” But here’s the real reason that this is possible and why it’s brought up.  The Giants face one of their fierce division rivals a week from Monday, the Dallas Cowboys.  It’s the first division game of the season for the G-men, and therefore looking ahead to that or trying to “save something” for that game creates the illusion of a trap against the next opponent on the schedule, the Lions.
