PLAYERS: Matt Schaub
TEAMS: Houston Texans
Both Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels have had great starts this year, and will be big factors in the Texans turning it around this season. The Houston Texans had more than I chance to win their game this week at home against the Seattle Seahawks. After leading the game 20-6 at one time, the Texans let yet this game get away from them late. The score was 20-13 when Matt Schaub threw what may have been his worst interception as a Texan when he put a ball up in the vicinity of All Pro CB Richard Sherman while attempting to escape pressure. Sherman returned the interception for a TD to tie the game and force overtime. The Texans would go on to lose the game by a FG, and needless to say Schaub has been the brunt of a lot of criticism just a couple days after the tough loss. Schaub has now thrown 6 INT’s this year, 3 of those have been returned for TD’s. And after yet another subpar game fans are growing restless. There we’re even a group of fans that formed a circle and proceeded to burn Schaub jerseys. What fans must remember is that the NFL season is 16 weeks long. There’s a lot of football left to play, and if the Texans have any chance at Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub will bounce back and play better this season. rebounding from this horrible loss Schaub will be the QB to carry them past it. Just last season Schaub was sitting pretty at 11-1 to in week 13 of the regular season, the Texans finished the year 12-4. Even back then Schaub was questioned and criticized for his play. Things didn’t get any better after the Texans were torched by the Patriots to be eliminated from the playoffs. But even after all that Schaub came back this season and led his team to 2 straight comeback wins to start the season. They lost a tough game on the road against the defending Super Bowl Champs, and just recently lost to a Seahawks team many consider the best in the NFC. Matt Schaub may struggle at times, yes. But he didn’t call a pass play on a 3rd and short, while leading the game, against the best secondary in football. He made a bad throw, but in no way should he have been throwing in that situation. Schaub has shown his resilience, and I have no doubt he’ll bounce back from this game. The Texans cannot panic after the loss they suffered. They still have the #1 ranked defense in football. Even with Schaub struggling WR Andre Johnson is still having a great season as well with 34 catches for 368 yards. RB Arian Foster just had his biggest game of the year this week with 102 yards on 27 carries and also caught a TD against the Seahawks. If the Texans can get back on track this week against a 49er team that has struggled at times this year and follow that with a win against the Rams they’ll be sitting at 4-2. That’s not a bad place to be with both the Colts and Titans already sitting at 3-1. After the Texans finish their NFC West swing in their schedule they get back to playing within their own division. If they can hold it together until then they’ll still have a really good chance at winning the AFC South

  • Don't panic? First of all football is etertainment and low on my list of priorities. However, if I am going to follow a team and give them a few hours on game day they need to be a "positive" form of entertainment. When they play "stupid" I turn them off. Then I swear I will not give them anymore of my time. But I come back again and then they do it again. There are a few elite teams but the Texans are not one. The Texans are nearing elite status on defense thanks to the players and Wade Phillips. The offense seems short a player or two, a big time quarterback and a coach/offensive coordinator who has fire and quick wits might get them there. Bench or trade Schaub. Play Keenum and let him go full speed.
  • The Texans need a seasoned, aggressive coach that won't settle for field goals. Someone that can devise a '4th and go ahead' TD with his available ground and air talents - which the Texans has plenty of.

Now, Kubiak sticks around with his ineffective QB Schaub not realizing that the years had taken away the agility, elusiveness, and accuracy that Schaub used to have. Well, he has the youth, agility, elusiveness and accuracy in Yates and Keenum....so, we, the loyal Texans fans, will just await until Kubiak accepts reality with his aging QB Schaub and decides to bench him for a later trade when an opportune inquiry from other teams arrive.

The only CONSISTENCY the fans want is that of WINNING! Kubiak with Schaub is not a winning decision. Kubiak with either Yates or Keenum will be.

Hopefully, when SF hands them their next loss, Kubiak will have an epiphany. And, fans will be excited again if he marshals Yates or Keenum onto the field.
  • Schaub is a nice guy but has slow feet---we do not have the offensive line to support a drop back passer---sorry Mr. Schaub you have to go ---we need a mobile QB---

Houston Restaurant Takes Shot At Texans QB Matt Schaub

Houston, we have a problem.  Widely regarded to be in the same circle as Tony Romo, Jay Cutler and Philip Rivers, Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub has been pretty solid on the stats sheet through the team’s first four games this season—completing 116 of 177 passes (65.5 percent) for 1,193 yards with eight touchdowns and six interceptions against the upstart San Diego Chargers...

Houston restaurant takes shot at Matt Schaub

It’s safe to say that Matt Schaub is the new Tony Romo. The Houston Texans quarterback has thrown six interceptions through four games this season, including a pick-six in three straight games. Houston's Schaub looks to bounce back

Matt Schaub has had a tough week. It has nothing to do with fans calling for the benching of the Houston quarterback and burning his jerseys. He has learned to tune out that kind of negativity. But he's unhappy with his performance last week and can't wait to get back on the field against the 49ers on Sunday to help erase the memories and get the Texans back on track. ...

Texans Plan to Punish Anyone Burning Matt Schaub’s Jersey

While I think burning jerseys is one of the stupidest things to do on the planet, I believe the Texans have more things to worry about than playing Hall Monitor to fans who want to do that. With that being said, they will have Top Flight Security of the World watching over tailgates, to make sure more Schaub jerseys aren’t sent to the gates of hell. TMZ spoke with a member of the...

Matt Schaub Needs to Pull his Head Out

The last two seasons have wound up being determined by average quarterbacks who were desperate to prove they were better than their reputation. Both Joe Flacco and Eli Manning won the Super Bowl to temporarily silence their critics who had said they were nothing more than pillars of mediocrity. This year one of the quarterbacks looking to complete the trifecta is Houston’s Matt...

Matt Schaub’s Twitter Account Mysteriously Vanishes as Texans Struggle

Colin Kaepernick responded to his critics in an interesting way last week, favoriting critical tweets as motivation. Matt Schaub is apparently taking a very differant approach to the Twitticism. Schaub’s Twitter account has mysteriously, and maybe conveniently, vanished in recent days, as Nick Wright of 610 SportsRadio in Houston first noted. The Texan’s quarterback’s @MSchaub8...
