San Francisco 49ers safety Donte Whitner thinks his team's defense will only get better next year but first he needs to go back to school. The former Buffalo Bills player has been in the Bay Area less than a year but he makes more than enough money to pay the out of state tuition fees at San Jose State University. Whitner tweeted Wednesday evening that he was going back to school to finish his degree at San Jose State University. The 26-year-old player attended Ohio State University before being drafted by the Buffalo Bills in 2006. Whitner said he will be taking a retail marketing class and another one on the legal environments of business. Thursday he was using Twitter to coordinate meet ups on campus with his follower and actively trying to connect with a fraternity to join.

49er receives sweet letter from little boy

Kyle Williams has received more than his fair share of abuse from unhinged fans due to his gaffes in the return game last weekend, so the letter of support he received from 7-year-old Owen Shure probably meant quite a bit.

49ers Coach Jim Harbaugh Disrespectful Whiny Jerk

TweetSan Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh is proving to be a disrespectful, whinny jerk. You can throw immature and unprofessional into the mix. A good head coach? Maybe, time will tell he certainly had great success his first season. Then again he wouldn't be the first coach to have success only to fall flat on his face after his act starts wearing thin with players and...

Dear Kyle Williams It’s Still All Your Fault

Jilted Spencer likely looking for new suitors

Shawntae Spencer hasn’t lost his love for the game, but his 2011 season with the 49ers was all about love lost. “I’ve been on that right corner since I got here,” Spencer said this week. “So for me, it was like seeing your lady with another guy.” Spencer was on the outside looking in during the Niners’ playoff run, suggesting the jilted veteran cornerback likely will...

Taking at look back at NFC Championship game: Giants vs 49ers

Film breakdown master Greg Cosell examined the "All 22" tape of the Giants victory over the 49ers in the NFC Championship game. The "All 22" game tape is the same film NFL coaches use to evaluate their players. "All 22" means a coach or a player can review each player on any given play. Needless to say, let us get to Cosell's analysis. In UltimateNYG...

49ers Might Lose a Special Coach

In the NFL there’s a downside to a team getting good. As soon as the season’s over and the league’s coaching carousel starts to spin, assistant coaches start flying off to other locales. For the 49ers, the process already has begun. When Jim Harbaugh was hired last season as head coach, he put together a terrific staff of assistants, starting with defensive coordinator...
