Doug Flutie sees some similarities between he and current Patriots quarterback Tim Tebow. Flutie, who played 12 NFL seasons over 21 years in pro football, last played with the Patriots in 2005. His role on that team was as a third-string quarterback and versatile quarterback who could give the defense some different looks on the scout team. In a recent interview with ESPN’s Mike Reiss, Flutie said that he sees Tebow playing a very similar role with the Patriots this season. “I see a little bit of that,” Flutie said of the comparison between he and Tebow. “There is definitely an aspect to the guy who isn’t on the field very much; if he’s just going to be the No. 3 quarterback and run the scout team, you want a guy who is going to be giving his heart and soul in every practice and running scout team to the fullest, hoping he can get better and doing everything he can.” Tebow has been practicing almost exclusively at quarterback since joining the Patriots late in the spring, even thoug...

Tom Brady on receivers: ‘I’m probably a pain in their butt’

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady says the offense isn’t were he would like it to be, but they’re “making progress.” “I think it’s better than what it was when we started and I think that’s the important thing,” said Brady during his Tuesday press conference. “We’ve got to keep building. For Brandon Spikes the message is clear

Last season New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick asked Brandon Spikes a simple question; "Do you know how good you can be?".  Brandon did not have the answer at the moment but eventually he looked in the mirror and asked himself the same question. His breakout 2012 campaign was as he put it the "steppingstone" to the answer. In a season where Spikes...

Jake Ballard still struggling with knee

Just a week or so ago it looked like New England Patriots tight end Jake Ballard was almost healthy and ready to rock & roll for the tight end needy Pats. Unfortunately that progress he had has slowed to a halt, so much that he was held out of practice on Saturday afternoon. Hopefully it’s a small setback because the Patriots need him in a bad way. Ballard is having problems...

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen’s California mansion has been in the news ever since construction on the massive 22,000-square-foot house was started a few years ago. Alfonzo Dennard too injured to practice?

New England Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard has missed the last three practices and it has everyone speculating why. The Boston Herald is reporting that the injury is considered minor but that there’s no visible sign of anything. Could it be related to his DUI? Could Bill Belichick be trying to give some others a chance? Or are the Patriots just trying to keep him healthy...

FOXBORO, Mass. – Justin Francis is just trying to keep it fun at Gillette Stadium as one training camp practice piles onto another. On Monday, the second-year defensive end was out there in a hooded sweatshirt as the August Foxboro sun beat down on the Patriots’ practice fields.
