Draft Zone Spotlight: Demazio Skelton, DB, Georgia State University Demazio Skelton is a very good player who started off his career as star wide receiver from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Demazio finished the season as the third leading tackler for the Panthers, where he recorded 54 hits, 3 interceptions, three pass break ups, and a fumble recovery. Skelton is a very good kid, with great hands. I can’t wait to see what an NFL team can do with D Skelton. How many teams were recruiting you coming out of high school and how did you make your decision? It was a number schools recruiting me such as Clemson, South Carolina, North Carolina, Va Tech and others. I made my decision to attend to GMC when I found out I had to go the junior college route and I wanted to be closer to home. Who was your favorite NFL team growing up, and did you have a player you rooted for? Atlanta Falcons, but my favorite player was Ed Reed. At your position, how do you break down film, please inform our readers what you look for when breaking down film? I tend to look at quarterback hand signals, how wide receivers come off the ball what routes and formations they run the most and what downs they run the formations in. Do you consider yourself a quiet leader or an outspoken role model? I consider myself a quiet leader. I lead by example not saying too much. If you could take one day back and erase it from your past what day would you erase? I don’t regret any day from my past so I wouldn’t take any of it back. Do you have any hobbies, if so tell the world what it is? I like shopping, hanging with friends, and working out. Who was the toughest player you have ever played against? Cordarrelle Patterson from Tennessee. What is the best accolade/award you have ever received from playing football? MVP of the State Championship Game my senior year in high school. 17 tackles, 1 interception and 2 offensive touch downs. If it was your last meal, what would you eat?  Lemon pepper salmon Before the game, what song might I hear on your ipod? I listen to a lot of different artist such as TI, Young Jeezy, and Kanye West. Do you have any pre game rituals? Yes, the morning of the game I always take a shower and I have to be the last one off the bus and though the tunnel. If you could pick out your biggest weakness what would it be?  Size, not weighing as much as a typical safety roughly 210. Have you talked to any NFL scouts throughout this process, and what feedback are you getting? I talked to a few scouts and I’m getting a lot of good feedback. If you could compare your play to someone in the NFL, who would it be? Ed Reed What is the most tragic event in your life that has happened and how did you bounce back? My grandma passing away going into my sophomore year in college. My mom helped me bounce back by making sure I was okay mentally and checking on me. Everyone asks this question but I’m curious to know what will you buy first with your first NFL pay check?  My mom a house. If you could meet one person, dead or alive who would it be and why? President Barack Obama, because he has accomplished so much such as being the first president who is African American.
