NFL and New Orleans Saints fans got quite a scare when an online news report said quarterback Drew Brees was in a car accident, broke both his legs and was paralyzed.
He took to Twitter to squash the garbage story on Friday. “I am fine, Not sure where the car accident story came from. It is not true. I appreciate everyone’s concern but I am ALL GOOD!” he posted.
The fake story was certainly full of details that had fans wondering the fate of Brees. It had said he was driving a 2012 BMW and crashed into a 2010 Audi driven by a 76-year-old woman, who failed to stop at a stoplight, and claimed Brees was later taken to the hospital for his injuries.
The culprit of the phony report looks to have come from Global Associated News, a site known for creating fake hoaxes and celebrity deaths, where users can contribute by making up their own garbage stories.
