If you’ve ever watched Drew Carey frantically sprint around town during the intro of his since-canceled show, you’d know he’s a big fan of all things Cleveland sports. Carey is also notoriously satirical and self-deprecating, never afraid to engage in a bit of friendly fire.
Those traits were once again made evident on Thursday.
During a live taping of NPR’s “Wait Wait . . . Don’t Tell Me” radio show, which aired Saturday, Carey was teased about the recent failures of local-area sports teams.
After shrugging it off, the 54-year-old comedian-turned-”Price Is Right” host countered the trend will end because, “The Browns are gonna be 8 and 8 this year!”
For shame, Drew. Take a lesson from Betty White on how to be a better fan. Or, at a minimum, buy into what Warren Sapp has been saying.
It’s no wonder why you couldn’t land tickets to a game.
(Yes, folks, this was a glaring reminder that it is, in fact, June 30.)
