I have watched nearly every Detroit Lions game this season and you have to wonder at this point, what is head coach Jim Schwartz teaching the Detroit Lions? It’s one thing to instill an aggressive attitude in Detroit, but this team is starting to resemble a team which is poorly coached. Detroit has now lost three of their last four and five of their last seven.
Four downs regarding the Lions' 31-17 loss to the Saints in New Orleans:
Nothing killed the Lions more than penalties.
Jim Schwartz's team simply couldn't stop itself as it committed 11 penalties for 107 yards.
Nate Burleson had three pass interference penalties,
Lions defensive tackle has had a rough couple of weeks. First, he was deservingly suspended for his Thanksgiving Day stomp on Packers offensive lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith. Then, early this past Saturday morning, he was involved in a one car accident in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. It's becoming apparent that Suh may be the culpable party for this unfortunate incident...

Smith left the game in the third quarter and did not return.

That's what Jim Schwartz's response was when asked about the loss of Ndamukong Suh before tonight's kickoff. He mentioned rookie DT Nick Fairley as part of the team's defensive depth.
According to the passengers Ndamukong Suh's car when the in Detroit Lions defensive tackle hit a tree early Saturday morning in Portland, Oregon, Suh lied to the police about the reason for the accident, the number of passengers in the car, and the extent of the injuries they suffered.
Just after the accident happened at approximately 1:00 Saturday morning, Suh told Portland...
The Detroit Lions haven't played on Sunday Night Football since 2005, before NBC owned the broadcast rights, but current SNF producer Fred Gaudelli has vivid memories of the Lions in prime-time.
Hanson's 42-yard field goal attempt got blocked by Patrick Robinson. Looked like maybe Robinson was offsides. That's clearly what Jim Schwartz and Matthew Stafford thought from the sideline.
Here we go. 35 bowl games, 70 college football teams, and of course all the Tostitos.
This season the BCS national championship will be played in New Orleans in the Superdome. This season the Superdome will host three bowl games, starting with the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, continuing with the Allstate Sugar Bowl and wrapping up with the BCS National Championship Game. As if...
Drew Brees finds Jimmy Graham for a gain of 16. Lions blitzed everyone and had no safety help. Brees then finds Jimmy Graham again for another first down.
NEW ORLEANS -- Drew Brees made a little more history for the New Orleans Saints and kept the mistake-prone Detroit Lions struggling.
