Cleveland Browns beat writer Mary Kay Cabot announced via Twitter this evening that the Cleveland Browns have released several players, and DT/NT Shaun Rogers is one of those players. Rogers was in some offseason hot water last year when he tried to board a plane from Cleveland with a loaded 9mm handgun in his carry-on bag. Rogers is the prototype nose tackle for a 3-4 defense and are the New York Jets or Washington Redskins paying attention? The 10 year veteran out of the University of Texas can still play at the NFL level despite turning 32 next month. Rogers would be a perfect fit for either team. If the Redskins decide to roll with the 3-4 defensive scheme again next season, this is now the perfect excuse to dump DT Albert Haynesworth. And Rogers would be a great fit for the New York Jets.
