Elvis Dumervil waited over a year for this opening night, only to see it ruined with a shoulder injury. The Broncos defensive end, who missed all of last seaosn with a torn pectoral muscle he suffered in training camp, was limited in Monday night’s regular-season opener with a left shoulder strain. “I tried to to, I tried to do whatever I could,” Dumervil said. Dumervil suffered the injury in Friday’s practice, went for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exam Friday afternoon, then worked through practice Saturday and started Monday’s game with a brace on the injured shoulder. Dumervil initially tried to play his customary right defensive end spot, which put his injured shoulder to the inside. He quickly left the game — on the third snap of the Raiders’ second possession — because of the pain, before returning on a limited basis the rest of the way.
