One anonymous NFL scout said Dwayne Bowe “scares him” and thinks he does not deserve a large contract this off-season (Credit: AP Photo) This off-season’s free agency is filled with a number of top tier wide receivers, including Mike Wallace, Greg Jennings and Dwayne Bowe. Bowe will command a large contract and may be one of the most sought after players during this year’s free agency period. However, one NFL scout, who spoke to Sports-Illustrated’s Peter King said he does not believe Bowe is worth all of the trouble he brings. In fact, that scout said Bowe scares him to death. “I am scared to death of Dwayne Bowe. Like him a lot, but not sure what we’d be buying if we signed him. Too much baggage,” the anonymous scout said. Bowe’s stay in Kansas City had its rocky moments, including a four-game PED suspension and some clashes with coaches. There have been issues with drops and weight over the years as well. Despite the questions about Bowe, he is definitely worth a larger contract. While I think he is the third best free agent wide receiver this off-season (behind Greg Jennings and Mike Wallace), he has the potential to be a number one wide receiver in a lot of locations. Bowe has broke 1,000 receiving yards in three of six seasons and had 15 touchdowns in 2010. During his tenure in Kansas City, Bowe’s quarterbacks included Damon Huard, Brodie Croyle, Tyler Thigpen, Matt Cassel, Tyler Palko and Brady Quinn. I can only imagine how successful Bowe would be if he had a top 15 quarterback at the helm. Bowe has missed eight games over those six seasons but that is typical for NFL players. In the end, Bowe will definitely receive the large contract he is looking for this off-season. The post Dwayne Bowe scares one NFL scout to death appeared first on DOWN & DISTANCE.
