The Penalty Flag:
Dwight Freeney’s signature move, the spin, is still just as effective as it has always been.
Signing with the San Diego Chargers this offseason after the Colts decided not to re-sign him, there was also interest from the Denver Broncos.
Freeney believed the San Diego Chargers gave him a better opportunity on May 18th as he was boarding a jet for a European vacation.
Yesterday in practice, Freeney spinning around Max Starks and sacking Philip Rivers wasn’t a good sign for Chargers fans, it was a great one... Read more

HBO’s Hard Knocks is a TV program that airs an entire NFL preseason for one NFL team each year. This year it’s the Cincinnati Bengals; next year it might be the San Diego Chargers. Recent news articles have been hinting that the Chargers are currently the favorite for the 2014 Hard Knocks program. This does not mean that they are...
It’s kind of hard to call someone a sleeper when every fantasy football owner knows his name but this year it’s true, Antonio Gates is a 2013 fantasy football sleeper.
Over the past few years the decline in the once great tight end’s skills has been obvious. The problem has stemmed mainly from nagging injury after nagging injury and it seems that the once reliable Gates has...
SAN DIEGO, Calif -- During a 2012 season, in which many of his teammates and coaches underperformed, San Diego Chargers' free safety Eric Weddle was at the top of his game.
The three-time All Pro selection (2010-12) and Pro Bowl participant from Alta Loma High School and the University of Utah was voted the Chargers' MVP by his teammates. He intercepted three passes to give...
According to the U-T San Diego columnist Kevin Acee, former Saints defensive back Johnny Patrick has done enough so far at the San Diego Chargers’ training camp to make the team come the end of August.
Former Saint Johnny Patrick had pretty much made this team as nickel and depth at cornerback. Today, he is making sure.

The San Diego Chargers have activated safety Brandon Taylor from the physically unable to perform list.
He sustained a knee injury last season.
Also Friday, left tackle Max Starks, who is battling King Dunlap for the starting job, got the day off.
Dunlap has been the starter in the offseason workouts and through the bulk of training camp. But a hip injury cut into his practice...
In the NFL, size and speed are attributes heavily sought out by teams, but they don’t always come paired together. That’s the case with Chargers running back Danny Woodhead.
Standing just 5’8” and weighing in right at 200 pounds, Woodhead is one of the smaller running backs in the NFL, but don’t let that size fool you. Woodhead, like other notable small backs (Maurice...
The San Diego Chargers have signed undrafted rookie safety Tony Burnett, the team announced on Tuesday.
The corresponding move sees the team waiving injured rookie cornerback Kenny Okoro and quarterback Mike Hermann.
Burnett worked out for the team after he went undrafted but was ultimately unsigned. He spent his collegiate years at Southern Cal.
The move comes out of need for depth...
The Chargers nosedived from a painfully disappointing team in 2010 to what we saw in 2012: a downright bad team. This happened for three reasons:
1) They seemed to lose offensive weapon after offensive weapon every season from LaDainian Tomlinson, to Darren Sproles, to Vincent Jackson.
2) They also lost talented offensive protection every season from Marcus McNeil, to Louis Vasquez...
The San Diego Chargers have signed free agent quarterback Nathan Enderle.
Enderle, a four-year starter at Idaho, was a fifth-round draft choice of the Chicago Bears in 2011. He spent that season on the active roster but did not play in any games.
He went to training camp with Jacksonville in 2012 and then spent time with Tennessee this offseason.
The move was announced Wednesday...
Despite a reasonably talented roster the Browns plodded to a 5-11 record and Pat Shurmer and his staff were replaced. In comes Head Coach Rob Chudzinski and offensive coordinator Norv Turner. Much has been made about how Turner’s offense means a great deal for the down field passing game, and for the fantasy value of tight end Jordan Cameron but Turner can help the Cleveland run...
The Chargers were back at work again Wednesday and a couple of recent high draft picks stood out for their strong performances. Get the latest notes on their work -- and a look at a couple of the team's defensive leaders -- in this new training camp report.
Hello Fake Footballers! I took a recent look at the ADPs on fantasyfootballcalculator.com to look at some recent trends that I…ahem…don’t quite agree with. These are players with similar ADPs, but I argue one of them is the clearly correct choice, while the other is likely a dud. Most of these are later-round picks that may seem like coin flips, but as you will see many of...
The Chargers held their annual Fan Fest on Saturday at Qualcomm Stadium and several players made the most of the new venue. While the rookies gave their all in their first practice inside Qualcomm Stadium, it was veterans like Philip Rivers, Malcom Floyd, Corey Liuget and Eric Weddle who made the big plays.
