They say one of the most important relationships on a football team is between the quarterback and his primary receiver. The countless routes ran in the offseason, all so the second the wide receiver whips his head around on that quick slant, the ball will be placed right in his hands.
For wide receiver Marco Thomas, this past Sunday was just the beginning of a beautiful relationship between him and quarterback Carson Coffman. In the 65-35 regular season opening loss, the one bright spot for the Iowa Barnstormers was the two touchdowns this emerging dynamic duo connected on.
“Having a relationship with your quarterback is crucial, your quarterback has to be comfortable where you are going to be, and as a receiver you have to feel comfortable the ball is going to be there, and I felt that in the two scores we had in the game,” said Thomas.
