1. Rob Gronkowski NE, 23 years old

Gronk will smash anything in his way with his special blend of size and speed.  As long as Tom Brady is at QB, Gronk will be at the top of the heap.

2. Jimmy Graham NO, 25 years old

This freakish talent has only scratched the surface of his talent and as long as Brees is around the sky is the limit.

3. Vernon Davis SF, 28 years old

What Davis did in the playoffs is what he is capable of if given the opportunity.  The 49ers will bring in some help at WR and the offense will only get better in year 2 of the Harbaugh era.

4. Jermichael Finley GB, 25 years old

Dropped way too many passes this season, but it was uncharacteristically bad for the talented TE.  The Packers should resign him this offseason and make him a focal point of the offense.

5. Aaron Hernandez NE, 22 years old

Will always be the second choice to Gronk, but also is more versatile and gets used in a number of creative ways by the Pats offense.

6. Jason Witten Dal, 30 years old

Still solid and has a powerhouse offense around him, but is starting to show signs of slowing down.

7. Antonio Gates SD, 32 years old

Gates battled through a foot injury, but is caused him to be out of shape and slower than ever.  He can still produce at a high level when healthy, but will always be a injury risk.

8. Fred Davis Was, 26 years old

Davis broke out this season, but was sidelined for the last month for breaking the substance abuse policy.  He is an athletic freak that should only continue to get better, especially when the Redskins get a real QB.

9. Jermaine Gresham Cin, 24 years old

Dalton and AJ Green are legit and Gresham took full advantage.

10. Brent Celek Phi, 27 years old

Showed a good chemistry with Vick and has a ton of talent around him to open up the middle of the field.

11. Brandon Pettigrew Det, 27 years old

Pettigrew owns the middle of the field for the Lions and take full advantage of underneath routes while defenders are draped all over Megatron.

12. Dustin Keller NYJ, 27 years old

Could be a stud with another QB or system, but Sanchez doesn’t target him enough.

13. Owen Daniels Hou, 29 years old

Hard to judge many of the Houston offensive players after all the injuries this season.  At 29, I’m not expecting him to break out this late in his career.

14. Greg Olsen Car, 27 years old

Cam Newton will only get better and is in a TE friendly offense.  Not sure if he can take the next step though.

15. Jared Cook Ten, 25 years old

I was one year off on this guy, but he should flourish with Jack Locker under center.  Will be inconsistent until he and Locker get on the same page, but their talent is off the charts.

16. Tony Gonzalez Atl, 36 years old

The old guy might have one more season left in the old legs, but retirement looms after this season.

17. Ed Dickson Bal, 25

Showed some flashes in 2011, but Dennis Pitta will be the mix in a run heavy offense.

18. Kyle Rudolph Min, 22 years old

Rudolph in the TE of the future in Minnesota and the future is now.  Showed a decent rapport with Ponder and has huge potential for 2012 and beyond.

19. Lance Kendricks StL, 24 years old

Really liked this rookie TE after a strong preseason, but he never quite lived up to the hype.  A fresh start should help as the Rams offense was horrific.

20. Tony Moeki KC, 25 years old

Moeki showed he could be a solid receiving option in 2010, but injury caused him to miss the entire season.  We shall see if he can rebound this season.

21. Zach Miller Sea, 26 years old

A lost season due to injuries and poor QB play.  Should have a new QB under center and the talent to get it done this season.

22. Dallas Clark Ind, 32 years old

Age, injury, and the possibility no Peyton make him not very desirable in 2012.

23. Dennis Pitta Bal, 26 years old

Pitta showed a good rapport with Flacco in the red zone this season and could end up being a better TE option than Dickson in 2012.

24. Marecedes Lewis Jax, 27 years old

After a career year in 2010, Lewis flopped big time in 2011.  With a new offense and a new offensive system, Lewis should have a shot to bounce back in 2012.

Jints look to tight-en up on Pats’ duo

The last time the Giants tangled with the Patriot, Tom Brady tossed two touchdown passes. Both went to tight ends, which is no great surprise. Rob Gronkowski caught eight passes for 101 yards and Aaron Hernandez caught four for 35. Both found their way into the end zone. The Giants...

Cleaning out the tape recorder with more goodies from Patriots WR Chad Ochocinco

There were a few items left on the cutting room floor from my lengthy interview with Chad Ochocinco Friday, that appeared in yesterday’s paper. Even with a full page spread, some goodies got left out. But that’s why blogs come in handy. You don’t miss a beat, so here’s a few more from the Ocho file. Naturally, I asked him about Tom Brady, and if his impressions of him had...

More than 25,000 fans send the Patriots off to Indy for Super Bowl XLVI

Before the Patriots headed out to Indianapolis to begin the festivities leading up to Super Bowl XLVI, they went to Gillette Stadium for a send-off rally. I was flying when it happened but when I landed, I can’t deny that I was surprised. Turns out, 25,000 of you flocked to Gillette to send the team off, and this is a solid summation right here. Players and coaches took turns stepping...

Super Bowl XLVI remains just under two weeks away but it is rather clear that one man will be a resounding loser in the court of public opinion in the days, weeks, and months to follow the festivities in Indianapolis.
