On Thursday, the Philadelphia Eagles completed the last day of mini-camp, ending several weeks of offseason workouts. The players will not meet again as a team until training camp at Lehigh University at the end of July.
Some notes from this week’s mini-camp:
Gold star for the week
There was 100% attendance for the team. The camp is mandatory, but a lack of contract disputes meant that everyone on the team was focused on the same goal: practicing and being the best team in 2012 they can be. A great sign, and great work by the team getting the deals for DeSean and Shady out of the way early in the offseason.
Rookie Fletcher Cox did miss a day of practice due to the death of his cousin in a car accident.
Smiles All Around
Les Bowen of the Daily News described the mood at mini-camp as decidedly upbeat. The fact that there were no off-field distractions, like concerns over getting contract extensions.
DeSean Jackson certainly felt the difference.
