The Philadelphia Eagles claimed wide receiver Greg Salas off waivers from the New England Patriots.
The Eagles announced the move this afternoon as Salas joins his third club since being a fourth-round draft pick of the St. Louis Rams in 2011. Philadelphia released wide receiver Mardy Gilyard to create a roster spot for Salas.

In a major surprise, Sebastian Vollmer has been inactivated for the game against the Jets.
The Patriots' tackle has been bothered by knee and back issues but has played through them and has drawn praise for working at a Pro Bowl level. His absence means two offensive line starters will not play. Logan Mankins had been ruled out earlier because of an ankle problem.
