If there is one thing we know about the Patriots and Eagles, it’s that they love to make trades. Specifically, coach Bill Belichick and Philly coach Andy Reid make trades. Shoot, they did it last year just for kicks.
So, on a conference call today, I asked Reid if he’s upset the trade deadline has passed because it meant that he can’t make a pre-game trade with the Patriots.
“Ha, we’ll get one in the draft somewhere,” Reid joked, though I bet he wasn’t joking.
Actually, Belichick and Reid do have a close relationship, which is rare for two head coaches in the NFL. Reid explained where that came from.
“Well, we knew each other as assistant coaches and then really when he became a head coach in New England and I came here as the head coach, we really developed a close relationship,” Reid said. “Chris Berman will take all the credit for that.”
