TEAMS: Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia 76ers
Andy Reid’s time in Philadelphia is nearing the end after getting blasted by the Atlanta Falcons 30-17 at home. Andy Reid was 13-0 after the bye week as the Eagles head coach. This season has been a nightmare for Reid and the rest of the Eagles team and organization. The nightmare doesn’t appear to be ending soon, at least not until the end of the regular season.
The Falcons took control of this game early, with two long drives that combined for 13 minutes in the first quarter, while the Eagles only had one quick three and out before falling 14-0 in the first quarter. They responded with a long touchdown drive capped off by LeSean McCoy, but Matt Ryan answered with a 63 yard touchdown to Julio Jones.
Atlanta put on cruise control after that and Philadelphia struggled to move the football from there. It’s tough to get back in the game when your defense isn’t on the same page and you get down 14-0 in the first quarter.
There was plenty of blame to go around on Sunday. The coaching staff, the offense, the defense, the special teams, the front office that put this team together without much depth, Michael Vick and basically anyone not named LeSean McCoy. This is the team of the year where attitude is crucial. A record of 3-4 doesn’t kill your season, but a record of 3-6 or 3-7 does. It’s important to keep fighting on every play at to maintain your focus and not to celebrate when you are losing badly. Nobody wants to see an entire defense celebrate a sack when they are getting blown out.
The season isn’t quite over just yet, but is a lot closer than it was yesterday. Right now the Eagles just need to focus on getting on the same page on defense and getting better on every phase. They can start focusing on their record and what it will take to make the playoffs once they end this three game losing streak.
The Eagles get an extra day next week to prepare for the New Orleans Saints next Monday night, but they can’t afford to have another start like they did against Atlanta. The Saints are on a two game winning streak and they are offense is really starting to heat up. One more week like the Eagles had against the Falcons and you can bet some major changes will be coming earlier than expected. Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie won’t put up with a half empty stadium in the fourth quarter for long.

Where are the Eagles headed the rest of the season? A look at their remaining schedule and the NFC East
The Eagles are an interesting team to follow. They have enough talent on offense to be very successful, but they are weak on defense. The biggest criticism I have of the Eagles offense is that they need to call plays that help out their strengths. I do not understand how McCoy doesn't get 30 carries a game. That would allow Vick to set-up play action and cut up defenses...
Blame Reid in 30-17 loss to Falcons at wet Lincoln Financial Field
It’s funny: I am not angry over the 30-17 loss the Eagles suffered to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
Well, I am upset that the Falcons scored on their first six possessions and held a 24-7 halftime lead. The Eagles made third-down stops, only to be overturned by penalty.
The Eagles could not stop the rain and wind, nor could they stop Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan and the rest...
The time for Eagles’ Andy Reid to panic is now
The Philadelphia Eagles longtime Head Coach Andy Reid is slowly coming to the realization that this season will be his last. Andy Reid on the hot seat rumors happen every year, but this season, more than any other season has shown signals from actions and rhetoric that this may be the last. Firstly, Juan Castillo
fired during the Bye Week is a move that shows the desperation the...
Eagles to stick with Vick as McNabb chimes in
For all intents and purposes it looks as if Eagles quarterback Michael Vick will live to fight another day.
As Philadelphia prepares to face another struggling group in the New Orleans Saints, coach Andy Reid certainly can’t handle trying to repair his suspect defense and work in a new signal caller in the same week.
There must be order and the Saints can without a doubt offensively...
Problems on Both Sides
During the 14 year Andy Reid era the Eagles have never lost a game coming off the bye…… that gave a lot of fans hope going into Sunday’s game versus the Falcons. Chad’s Play of the Day October 29
Wow way to go Eagles… What a terrible assessment thinking they would come out strong off the bye like they had the 13 previous years under Andy Reid. Falcons win should cement spot as NFL's best
The Falcons loomed as the only unbeaten team remaining in the NFL, but they entered Sunday's game at Philadelphia as an underdog.
Perception lurked greater than reality: The Eagles as NFC heavyweight, having gained a berth to the conference championship game five times in head coach Andy Reid's first 13 seasons; the Falcons as pretender, having gone 0-3 in the playoffs in...
Asante Samuel: “Andy Reid didn’t speak to me”
Asante Samuel was set off by the fact that Andy Reid didn’t talk to him after the Falcon’s win over the Eagles. (Credit: AP Photo)
Apparently Asante Samuel has a bit of a problem with getting the cold shoulder from his old coach. Samuel’s Falcons put up a sound victory over Andy Reid’s Eagles on Sunday, 30-17. But it seemed like there was more than the result of the game...

Philadelphia Eagles Lose Third Consecutive Game
The Eagles were notoriously bad on Sunday as Andy Reid’s 13-0 record after the bye got utterly demolished by an Atlanta Falcons team that routed the Eagles, 30-17, in front of the home crowd. The leading receiver in yards for the Eagles was DeSean Jackson, who had 59 yards on five receptions, and the ground game was just as ineffective with the leading rusher, LeSean McCoy, finishing...
Is It Over Yet?
Eagles v. Falcons, Sunday, October 28, 2012
No, I don’t mean the game. I KNOW the game is over. Thank God, because it was truly painful to watch.
No, I don’t mean Hurricane Sandy. She’s just getting cranked up here in the mid-Atlantic. Stay home and stay safe, y’all.
I mean the Eagles season. Is it over?
OK, mathematically, I know it’s not over. The Eagles aren’t even...

Michael Vick will remain the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Coach Andy Reid announced the decision on Wednesday. The Eagles are off and Reid and Vick are not scheduled to address the media again until Thursday.

Will Vick Be Benched?
I still won’t run the ball Juan…
Andy Reid is coaching for his job this season and rumors are flying that he could bench starting QB Michael Vick in favor of rookie Nick Foles. Foles is a highly regarded prospect that really impressed this preseason and Reid has had a track record of making QBs fantasy stars.

As of yesterday, Eagles quarterbacks still unaware of who is starting this week
NFL Network’s Jeff Darlington reports neither Eagles quarterback has been made aware of a depth-chart change as of Monday. Michael Vick and waiting-in-the-wings rookie Nick Foles are still awaiting clarity on the situation after coach Andy Reid’s day-after press conference was canceled due to Hurricane Sandy. Darlington suggests the storm could actually force the Eagles to stick...
