Eagles Cut Takeo Spikes

In a move that will free up 5 million dollars in cap space, the Eagles released linebacker Takeo Spikes. Spikes spent only one season with the Eagles after he was acquired from the Bills for Darwin Walker. This move is surprising, because Spikes was looked at as the veteran leader of an otherwise young linebacking group. Spikes was injured at the end of last year, so he could also not be recovering at the rate the Eagles had hoped. This move had to be done to clear up enough space for the Eagles to acquire a number one receiver. Could Larry Fitzgerald be on his way to Philly soon?

  • And also to clear cap space for a playmaker on offense because if they dont i will be pissed because we really dont need to restructure the defense or special teams..... The defense is Basically Young and Full of Energy and will be like that for a while....
    Special teams they did sign to a 2 yr deal Bam Childress from the Patriots he isnt an Ideal Play making receiver but what do u think of having him as a Punt and Kick Returner and gain some yards....
    Eagles are making plans like the did for the 04 Season They are going to Dominate with the Right tools on Offense and on Defense.....

  • I hope this was done to try and get fitz i think spikes needed to be cut anyway but this only gives the eagles more cap space. I heard again from local sport networks that FItz and the Cards are still not close to a deal .
