Eagles D Gets the W

Once again the Eagles defense holds its opponent to under 10 points. The defense stayed patient limiting the Jets to just 9 points. Minus Dawkins, minus Lito Sheppard, the secondary was very effective against the frustrating pass attack of Chad Pennington's check-downs.
Two of the three field goals came off big runs by Thomas Jones in the first quarter. However, Jim Johnson made the neccessary adjustments of defense and controlled Jones and Washington in the second half. The pass attack was never a threat as Sheldon Brown, Sean Considine, and backups Will James and Quentin Mikell stayed at home and knew their assignments.
The biggest play of the game came late in the fourth quarter. An interception put the Jets in good field position inside the Eagles's 20 yard line. The Jets went for it on fourth down and goal to go on a fade route to Coles. The Jets hopes of a comeback ended when cornerback Shelden Brown made the play of the game knocking the ball down. Final Score: Eagles 16 Jets 9

The halftime adjustment of not letting Jones get the cutback lanes was impressive. Jim Johnson is always doing a great job on the Eagles coaching staff.
