Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Trent Cole was likely to be out three weeks after an MRI showed he has a grade two calf strain, FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reported Monday. Cole was tested Monday morning after straining his calf in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 24-23 defeat to the San Francisco 49ers. It likely leaves the Eagles without Cole for the trips to Buffalo and Washington before the team's Week 7 bye. The Eagles were braced for an even worse diagnosis, with the NFL Network earlier quoting a league source as saying that Cole's injury "definitely could be serious." But Glazer confirmed Monday that fears Cole could have been done for the year after he was carted off the field Sunday were premature. Philadelphia also lost defensive tackle Antonio Dixon earlier in Sunday's game with a triceps strain. The results of his MRI were still to be made available Monday.
