Punt returner Damaris Johnson and linebacker Jamar Chaney are among the inactives for the Eagles against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Johnson will either be replaced by Mardy Gilyard or former Pro Bowl returner DeSean Jackson. Johnson averaged just 6.0 yards on eight returns and had nine fair catches. Chaney had started the last two games for the injured Akeem Jordan, who returned to the lineup. Lions safety Louis Delmas is active and starting for the first time this season after having knee surgery in August. Running back Kevin Smith, who started the season opener, was inactive. Smith had 115 yards on 29 carries through the first two games of the season, but hasn't had a carry since.

Eagles set to enter turbulent bye week after loss to Lions

It would not be surprising to come across the news that Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has taken off to an exotic island to clear his head during the team’s bye week. After losing what should have been a runaway game to the Detroit Lions, a large section of the Eagles fanbase have become pretty resolute in the theory that they want to see what backup quarterback Nick Foles can...

Philadelphia Eagles and Andy Reid heading toward ugly divorce

The Philadelphia Eagles have come back down to earth in a hard way. They started off so well at 3-1 looking to be the team with dreams of playoff games and a NFC East Title. Yet after losses to Arizona, Pittsburgh and now the Detroit Lions, they are now 3-3 heading into their bye. It was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that if the Eagles do not make the playoffs, it could very...

Mike Vick the first to go if Philadelphia Eagles don’t make playoffs?

A few hours before kickoff on Sunday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter cited an NFL source as saying that the Eagles would cut Mike Vick if Philadelphia didn’t go deep into the playoffs this season.Anyone who pays attention to Eagles football knows that this was something that was already understood.Since it was signed, we have known that Vick’s $100 million contract tied the team to the...

Eagles to part ways with Michael Vick unless he leads them to playoffs

This isn’t breaking news. This is common sense news. The day Michael Vick signed his $100 million contract with the Eagles, I said it was a two-year try out. If it didn’t work, he would be gone with far less than $100 million in his pocket. Nothing has changed. Both Andy Reid and Vick will be gone if they don’t make a run to the playoffs. What I find humorous are the Eagles...

Eagles WR Jason Avant: It’s Undisciplined Football - The Philadelphia Eagles are 3-3 after blowing a big lead at home against the Detroit Lions. While blame will be shared by many players on the team, wide receiver Jason Avant says that he knows what the problem is in Philadelphia this season. “It’s undisciplined football,” wide receiver Jason Avant told the Philadelphia...

Michael Vick May Leave Philly After 2012

The Eagles might not bring back quarterback Michael Vick next season according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.Fantasy Spin:It sounds like Vick won't be back if Philadelphia misses the playoffs. Vick is due to receive an enormous amount of guaranteed money if the Eagles keep him on the roster after this season. If Vick and the Eagles do part ways, the team could either insert Nick...

Could Vick be gone if Eagles miss playoffs?

Michael Vick is the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles right now. Barring some unforeseen injury Vick should remain that way for the rest of the season. Head coach Andy Reid is feeling the hot seat. Both Vick and Reid need an Eagles appearance in the playoffs. While Reid could simply take Vick out of the lineup he knows that his job is tied to the talented but inconsistent Vick...

Enigmatic Eagles seek answers after blown leads

When Andy Reid uses the word ''pathetic'' to describe the performance of the Philadelphia Eagles, it must've been really bad. The Eagles blew a 10-point lead with 5:18 left and lost 26-23 in overtime to Detroit on Sunday to fall to 3-3 going into their bye week. It was the second straight game they wasted a late lead, a common theme over the past two seasons...

The 2012 Eagles: Thought I'd Something More To Say

Fritter and Waste Outside of my home today, it was 74 degrees at 2:45pm. The sun was out, the humidity was low, and the recent cold snap has taken some of the zest out of this year's rampant mosquito population. As I looked down at my 5-month old puppy, he looked back at me, and pulled me towards the ball box. Come on, Dad. It's beautiful outside. Let's play. Instead...

Detroit Lions at Philadelphia Eagles: Five Things We Learned

Michael Vick and his Philly teammates are likely going to think about this one for quite a while. They had this game WON. In its own way, a win today could have made a statement of real-ness to non-believers of the National Football League.A 4-2 record despite what, TWELVE turnovers directly attributed to Vick in just six games? How incredible!A share of first place in the NFC East...

Lions rally to beat Eagles in overtime

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Jason Hanson kicked a 45-yard field goal in overtime and the Detroit Lions rallied from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Philadelphia Eagles 26-23 on Sunday. Held in check most of the game, Matthew Stafford led Detroit to 17 points in the fourth quarter. He threw a TD pass and ran for a score. Detroit had two shots from the Eagles 1 after a pass...
