Eagles DT Mike Patterson collapsed, then had a seizure, which had been brought on by a cerebral arteriovenous malformation, also known as AVM, during training camp in August. Nevertheless, Patterson answered the ball for 15 regular-season games at his regular defensive tackle position, missing only the finale against the Redskins on Sunday. As players filtered in and out of the locker room Monday to clean out their stalls and pack for the offseason, Patterson revealed that he is headed for brain surgery within the next couple of weeks. "I still have one more doctor to check out, but I'm going to get something done," said Patterson. "We'll see. I'm not nervous at all about it. I felt like, for me personally, it's not as big a deal as it seems to be to other people. It's a quick procedure and I'll be back." Patterson said he's been told the rehab for such surgery is anywhere from one to six months. "I have nothing to worry about, as long as I get it taken care of so I can come back out and play," he said.
