Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Mike Patterson will play in Thursday's exhibition game, just over three weeks after suffering a scary seizure.
Patterson returned to practice Saturday and is taking anti-seizure medicine. He likely will play with the second unit in Thursday's game vs. Cleveland.
On Aug. 3, Patterson was rushed to the hospital after having a seizure at practice that lasted four minutes and caused him to lose consciousness. He was released two days later and diagnosed with arteriovenous malformation in his brain.
Brain AVM is a tangling of blood vessels in the skull that can require surgery or radiation. It can be treated and is not career-threatening. Patterson, the longest current tenured Eagle, plans to play this season.
