The Broad Street Journal:
As the Eagles 53 man roster starts to take shape, I’m glad to see they cut Chad Hall. I have nothing against Hall, and he’s a very likeable guy, but one of the major problems the Eagles have had under this regime at times is a severe lack of talent evaluation. Chad Hall is simply not an NFL caliber player, and the Eagles have carried guys like him on their roster for far too long.
I know in the NFL it’s a copycat league, and we know how close Andy Reid and Bill Belichik are. You can thank Danny Woodhead for the Eagles ever even giving Chad Hall a look. Woodhead was tearing up the league for an 8 or 9 game stretch, leading the Eagles to believe that short, slow white guys were all of a sudden all the rage in the NFL.
It’s always hard to admit your mistakes in the NFL when it comes to player personnel, but I’m hoping they will swallow their pride, and rid themselves of a few other guys like Casey Matthews and Jaiqwaun Jarrett.
