Eagles Fire Crippled Mummer Over Facebook Comment on Dawkins

I just read this article.....Although he's crippled, he should've removed his fan status and looked at this from a employee/employer perspective. Companies all over are looking at people's facebook and myspace pages spying on them. It's not an invasion of privacy because he made his opinion public. He was a seasonal employee so there was no need to go through any corrective action status.

I dont feel the org was wrong, per se. I do think though it shows a lack of ignorance, though, when it comes to fans.

Yes it's America, but remember that Big Brother is always watching. In today's economy companies(not just the Eagles) are hunting for reasons to let people go. This isn't the first incident where an employer has went online to get info on what an employee thinks of them. I agree with what the guy said, but I don't work for the Eagles.

I saw this earlier too. The manager's reason for the termination over the phone was pretty lame. Some guys comment on Facebook really made the org look that bad? Weak.

I don't disagree with what happened, just how it happened...you can't bad mouth your boss and expect everything to be fine...on that note you can't expect you fire a crippled, devoted fan in such a cowardly way without any backlash either...its "TIT FOR TAT"

I think he must of touched a raw nerve with this CHEAP organization. The whole organization from the top down needs to geta little tougher. What a bunch of crybabies.

That's the problem with working for the team you're a fan of. I can see where it would be great, but I can definitely see where it would be hard to not be angry about Dawk regardless of who signs your paycheck. It wasn't the smartest thing to put that up on his Facebook, but the Dawk thing really got to people. I mean, I declared I was "Done with this team" at least 50 times until I calmed down a little after a week and realized what tattoo removal costs!! I can see talking to him about it and maybe getting a warning, but to fire him once again shows the disconnect between the organization and us as fans.....even the fans that work for them.

CHEAP EAGLES AREN'T SPENDING NOTHING. THE TRUTH HURTS................

The team let go of players for talking back or going against the organization. The chose not to pay for many older players (Not just Dakins) and instead lock up young guys to bad contracts. How can a regular guy think he will be treated different? As The Rock says "Know your role and shut your mouth!"

The ARROGANCE of this organization reared its ugly head. This is an affront to all us individually defenseless fans. It doesnt matter how you serve your master so long as you serve. I appreciate your good looks bald eagle but a little pressure wont hurt our chances of winning. its good sound policy that fans exercise the leverage that they have to get what they want. Ive been waitning for years baldy and have seen only TO signed to a cheaper than avg contract. Other than Runyan and Kearse when have the Eagles spent BIG dollars on FA.

I'll bet that Banner and company don't cry at all when fans go out and buy Eagles Tee-shirts, caps, jerseys, tire covers and stadium blankets.Some of those sales HAVE to be going to employees, seasonal and otherwise. But let one guy, loyal to you at all other times, express an emotional opinion, and it's 'kick him into the street'........True, it's bad form to knock your employer in public, but on first offenses it's usually a 'talk'. To fire him outright is pretty extreme (and cold).

What true fan is not upset about B Dawk leaving? I felt the same way when Reggie White left. Disagreeing is not a reason for terminating someone's employment. He expressed his opinion, which most Eagles fan agree. I'm surprised the riot squad wasn't needed in Philly!
