While Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has
already been ruled out as a starter for the remainder of the season, the
question now becomes how many more snaps running back LeSean “Shady” McCoy will
take. McCoy was among the players that did not practice for the Eagles on Thursday,
also including Vick, defensive lineman Mike Patterson and safety Kurt Coleman.
McCoy continues to recover from a concussion he sustained
several weeks ago. Vick, who’s also recovering from a head injury, received
most of the attention initially, as coach Andy Reid said McCoy’s concussion
wasn’t as severe as the quarterback’s. However, McCoy continues to be sidelined
and given the Eagles’ record it’s unclear how much they’re going to want to
push him for the remainder of the season.
Peterson was not included on the list Wednesday, but missed
Thursday’s practice due to illness. Coleman has been absent for the past two
days as he recovers from a chest injury.
