Eagles Linebacker Takeo Spikes suffered a torn rotator cuff in Philadelphia's 10-6 win over Dallas. Coach Andy Reid said he was not sure when Spikes sustained the injury, but that he played much of the game hurt. "We'll just see how he does, if we manage it or not," Reid said. "We'll see how he's able to handle that." Spikes was able to continue playing Sunday, but two Eagles who were forced from the game might be able to come back for next week's visit to New Orleans. Tight end Matt Schobel, who suffered a concussion on a high hit by Ken Hamlin, and guard Shawn Andrews could both be back for the Saints game. Reid said Monday he was more optimistic about Schobel's chances than he was after the game, and an MRI on Andrews' knee came back negative. Already playing without starter L.J. Smith, the Eagles had to rely on rookie Brent Celek after Hamlin went high on Schobel while the tight end was reaching up for a pass on Philadelphia's first possession. "I worry about the players being hurt," Reid said. "Both guys went down." But Reid said he understood that Hamlin was trying to make a play. "Sometimes things happen, especially with a defensive back. You tell them to go after the ball, so they're playing high, then all of a sudden they've got to tackle." Running back Correll Buckhalter, who sat out with a concussion, and Smith (knee) are both improving, Reid said.
