The Philadelphia Eagles loss Pro Bowl LT Jason Peters to ruptured Achilles tendon, an injury that takes a minimum of 11 months to recover from.  This means that Peters is lost for the 2012 season and the Eagles find themselves in need of an offensive tackle.

J'Marcus Webb doesn't seem to be an NFL caliber offensive tackle.  He's given up a high amount of sacks on both the left side and the right side of the offensive line.  The Bears also need an offensive tackle, but find themselves in a lost position with the Eagles holding the 15th pick in the draft.

The Eagles' injury likely means the third best offensive tackle in the draft Johnathan Martin, comes off the board to the Eagles at 15.

The next question is do the Bears focus their sights on Mike Adams as their future starting LT?  The quick answer is no you completely pass on Mike Adams.  Adams is not an NFL caliber LT no matter what the hype has been for Adams since the Senior Bowl.  Adams has average feet at best and isn't as physical as his size would characterize him being.

While the Bears may still have a shot at Martin if the Eagles decide to pass, the Eagles not drafting Martin may actually say a lot about him as a prospect.

Martin too is not a complete OT in the same mold as Ryan Khalil.  He scouts out as a first round prospect, but Bears fans looking to find an immediate starter may have to realize that Khalil represents the only day one starting LT in this draft.

Replacing J'Marcus Webb with another prospect who may have to develop and learn like Webb has had to do the last two season may not be the best way to address protecting Cutler.
