When Eagles’ quarterback Michael Vick hit Jeremy Maclin over the middle for a 70-yard touchdown, there were five minutes left and the Eagles couldn’t lose up 23-13.
The Lions scored quickly after the Eagles’ score, using an 80-yard drive highlighted by a 57-yard completion from Matthew Stafford to Tony Scheffler. Three plays later, Stafford found Nate Burleson for a 17-yard touchdown on a 3rd and 15 to cut the lead to 23-20.
They followed with a field goal with seconds left and tied the game at 23.
The Eagles won the toss to receive the ball, but avoiding a safety was the best Vick could do and the Lions smelled blood.
Jason Hanson’s 45 yard field goal ended the game and the Lions won 26-23.
The Eagles, going into the bye, are 3-3.
And on a day when recorded his first interception and the Eagles got its first touchdown longer than 20 yards.
