Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jason Peters, 31, did not play during the 2012 season after a Roll-A-Bout knee walker broke in March causing him to re-injure his torn Achilles tendon.
The 340 pound Peters was using the device – which is sold for patients up to 500 pounds – when it broke below the handlebars.
After a second operation was required for Peters’ Achilles he was ruled out for the season.
Elizabeth Underwood, who represented the walker company, declined to comment Wednesday.
Peters had been a Pro-Bowl selectee from 2007-2011. He has started 97 career games and been a member of the Eagles since 2009.
