The Football Fan Spot:
Eagles’ Head Coach Andy Reid admitted that defensive tackle Mike Patterson will be out for a while and could miss the entire season, according to CSN Philly. The Eagles have placed him on the non-football injury list, which functions the same way as the PUP, meaning Patterson can be activated after week 6, but that doesn’t seem likely.
Patterson had surgery on his brain to remove a malformed vein (AVM) at the beginning of the offseason in January and while they expected him to be back by this point, it shouldn’t be surprising that he isn’t. This isn’t exactly something you can just rub some dirt on and go back out there and tough it out. Sadly, this could be a career threatening injury for the talented soon to be 29 year old.
The Eagles prepared themselves for this scenario by using a 1st round pick on Fletcher Cox. Cox could be the starter opposite Cullen Jenkins, but even if he isn’t, he’ll see a large role. The Eagles love rotation on the defensive line so Jenkins, Cox, Derek Lan...

During the Andy Reid era, the Philadelphia Eagles have given new meaning to those common three letters you see when texting: “LOL.” No, it’s not “laugh out loud”, the Eagles’ version stands for “lack of linebackers.”
Because that’s exactly what the Eagles have suffered from for most of of Reid’s tenure here in Philly.

NFL preseason: Eagles vs. Jets preview
The Eagles get the pleasure of facing a Jets team that hasn’t scored a touchdown the entire preseason for their final exhibition tune-up. Even though starters will get very little time, if any, that is a nice sight to see for Andy Reid and the rest of the coaching staff.
They are going to have to cut another 22 players from...

Were the Philadelphia Eagles underachievers or overhyped last year?
The Dream Team failed miserably to live up to enormous expectations, finishing 8-8 only because they won four straight to end the season. But winning nothing didn't stop Michael Vick from saying this summer that the Eagles have the potential to be a ''dynasty.''
''I know that we are...
