Eagles wide receivers Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson missed Thursday's practice with injuries. Head coach Andy Reid said Maclin (hip) and Jackson (hamstring) would not participate but could still play in Sunday's game against the Ravens. Maclin has a hip pointer, and remains extremely tender, Reid said. Jackson's hamstring injury is not considered serious but could sideline him for Friday's practice.

DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin don’t practice

According to Rotoworld.com, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver’s Jeremy Maclin (hip flexor) and DeSean Jackson (hamstring) were held out of practice on Thursday. “Jackson’s absence comes out of nowhere. He played the entire game in Week 1 and was listed as a full participant during Wednesday’s practice. D-Jax either pulled the hammy at the end of practice or simply woke up...

Jeremy Maclin not practicing for the Eagles

According to Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly.com, Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin isn’t practicing today after suffering a hip pointer during Sunday’s win over the Browns. Andy Reid: Maclin only one who won’t practice. Still has hip pointer. — Geoff Mosher (@GeoffMosherCSN) September 12, 2012 Hip pointers can be tricky, there’s a chance Maclin could miss this week’s game...

Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin Remains Sidelined With Hip Pointer

It was another day of no practice reps for Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, who continues to recover from a hip pointer. Surprisingly, joining him on the sidelines Thursday was fellow starting receiver DeSean Jackson, who has a sore hamstring. Maclin's status for Week 2 vs. Baltimore remains up in the air. Maclin heads into Week 2 looking for a touchdown in his second consecutive...

Eagles odds and ends – Maclin injured, Gilyard back, Ravens up next

Andy Reid announced after a skin-of-your teeth win against Cleveland in week 1 that wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has a hip pointer. Maclin caught 7 passes Sunday for 96 yards and was the Eagles best receiver. The fact that he was even able to play the whole game was a small victory. Maclin got roughed up on two plays, and was shaken up both times. He sat out a down after the first...

Eagles WRs DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin Practice Friday

Eagles wide receivers DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin were both spotted in pads and running around during the early portions of Friday's practice. Neither player practiced on Thursday. Maclin has a hip injury that he sustained in Week 1 while Jackson, after practicing fully on Wednesday, came down with a hamstring injury during yesterday's practice. But when asked about...

Why Michael Vick May Cost Andy Reid His Coaching Job in Philadelphia

Jeff Zelevansky / Getty Images Just because Andy Reid is the NFL’s longest-tenured head coach doesn’t mean his position with the Philadelphia Eagles is secured by any means. Ever since taking over in 1999, Reid has been able to elevate the Eagles franchise from mediocrity into the upper echelon of the league, but has never been able to deliver the City of Brotherly Love what...

Jason Whitlock: Andy Reid is “a moron” for not running more against Browns

I can’t say that I wouldn’t be unhappy with Andy Reid’s play selection Sunday if I were an Eagles fan. It’s interesting to read such fallout for the coaches of the winning team. Leave it to Whitlock to resort to name-calling. At some point that probably detracts from credibility in most people’s minds. In a tight game the Eagles led for much of the day, Reid waited until...

DeSean Jackson misses Thursday practice due to injury

As if the Eagles didn’t have enough issues with wide receiver depth with Jeremy Maclin’s hip stinger, suffered during Philadelphia’s Week 1 win against the Browns, the team saw DeSean Jackson sit out of practice on Thursday due to a hamstring injury. The injury occurred during Wednesday’s practice and Jackson “was seen walking around afterward with a large wrap of ice on...

Does Andy Reid Know Best?

The lifespan of an NFL head coach in one city is usually around 3 years. The one’s with good enough resumes, become coordinators or get another head coaching job the next season.  Some learn valuable lessons  from their previous stops and become more successful.  Andy Reid is in the 14th season at the helm for the Eagles and after watching yesterday’s butt-ugly,  come-from...

Andy Reid Blames Himself For Drafting Jaiquawn Jarrett

Eagles coach Andy Reid was reluctant to speak at his regular Wednesday press briefing about his decision to release the former second-round pick Tuesday, was much more forthcoming later in the day, Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com reports. Reid, speaking to two writers in greater detail about Jarrett, took sole responsibility for the pick and blamed himself for the wasted second-round...

Micheal Vick’s terrible day

Image source: Browns Facebook Page I was there in Cleveland to witness Micheal Vick’s terrible performance and the usual collapse by the Browns. Vick is getting plenty of heat, for good reason, while some like Jason Whitlock called Andy Reid a “moron” for relying to much on the passing game when LeSean McCoy. Both Vick and Reid deserve the blame. Reid has always relied too...

Eagles matchup with Ravens: will Reid put Vick in the right position to win?

Next up for the Eagles will be the Baltimore Ravens, and if you watched them Monday night play the Bengals, you should realize the Eagles will need a better effort if they hope to win. Starting with Andy Reid, who one would have difficulty arguing that last week Reid called one of his worst games as Eagles coach. When the Eagles coaches watch the tapes on the Ravens they will see...

Doc Talk: NFL Week 2 injuries

Sunday Kansas City Chiefs at Buffalo Bills Bills RB Fred Jackson (right knee) Jock to Doc take: Jackson confirmed on Monday after his MRI that his ligament was sprained and not torn. He also revealed that the team will re-evaluate the injury in a week so the doctors can give him a more accurate timetable based on how fast it is healing. Nonetheless, according to the official Buffalo...

Andy Reid is trying to turn Michael Vick into an old white man

You can talk about the bad decisions, or the lack of awareness when it comes to eluding injury, but despite his inadequacies, Michael Vick possesses a skill set that few others have been able to emulate in my lifetime, or maybe ever.I’m not his biggest fan, but not since the recent arrival of Cam Newton and more recently Robert Griffin III, has the NFL seen a quarterback who can...

Battle of the Birds – The Eagles vs. The Ravens Preview

It’s week 2 in the NFL and already Eagles fans can hear the ticking of Andy Reid’s clock winding down after a 1-point win against a team that had no business staying in the game against the “dream team.”  While Michael Vick threw 4 interceptions and lost a fumble, the Ravens buried the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night, showing which team was truly elite. I was really...
