When the Eagles had officially fired Andy Reid, one of the names that continued to surface as possible replacements before Chip Kelly was hired was ESPN Analysts Jon Gruden.
However if you ask Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, Gruden made it clear to him that that was speculation and that he would not return to coaching this year.
Per Profootballtalk: “Jon made it clear that he was not coming back to the NFL this year,” Lurie said.
So much for everybody who predicted Gruden would return to the coaching ranks this season.
