Found January 06, 2014 on Eagles Addict:
First of all, I was extremely disappointed after the Eagles lost to the Saints in the Wildcard round on Saturday night.  The game was there for the taking but they just couldn’t quite get it done. Nick Foles and the offense couldn’t capitalize early while the defense was shutting down Drew Brees and the Saints.  The defense couldn’t stop a weak Saints run game when it counted most and the special teams, along with a dumb penalty, helped kill them late. And if Riley Cooper catches that pass, who knows what might have happened. After the game, I was pissed off and miserable.  I couldn’t easily transform into a “hey, our future is bright” frame of mind like some folks could.  I didn’t want to hear any of that.  What I saw was a game the Eagles could have won and they didn’t. And that frustrates the living crap out of me.  It’s disappointing.  There are no moral victories in football.  Just because the Eagles exceeded expectations this year doesn’t erase the fact they lost a game they

Zach Ertz: I Want to Be Best To Ever Play The Game

Eagles rookie tight end Zach Ertz said Monday he wants to go down as the greatest tight end to ever play the game.  Zach Ertz had an immediate impact on Chip Kelly's offense even as a rookie, but the Stanford University has much more loftier goals heading into his first offseason.  Just two days after hauling in his first career playoff touchdown reception in his first post...

Eagles Notes: Jeremy Maclin, Trent Cole, Cary Williams

Jeremy Maclin Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin is aware of the fact that he may have to agree to a one-year deal this offseason with the hope of securing a multi-year contract afterwards. “I’m a realist, so I understand that that’s a possibility,” Maclin said, via Les Bowen Philadelphia Inquirer. Bowen adds that Maclin is unlikely to “break the bank” during free agency as...

Eagles Season Comes To Bitter End

There’s always next year. That has become a saying Eagles fans have repeated all too often over the last decade. There were a lot of changes this year, but we ended the same way. Telling ourselves that there’s always next year. Despite some disappointment from the loss to the Saints, you can’t deny that this Eagles season was very positive overall. There were a lot of uncertainties...

Nick Foles led the NFL in passer rating, helped the Philadelphia Eagles win the NFC East title and had a sensational statistical year as a sophomore. Has he earned the franchise quarterback title yet? ''I don't want to comment on any player, but how could you not be impressed with Nick and everything he's accomplished?'' owner Jeffrey Lurie said following...

Michael Vick likely moving on from Philadelphia Eagles

Micheal Vick is open to returning to the Eagles as a backup, but he sounded Monday like he's prepared to move on from Philadelphia in search of his own starting job. "My desire is to start," Vick said, via Philadelphia...

Saints outlast Eagles in Philadelphia

As much of a shootout as Saturday’s early game between the Chiefs and Colts was, the day’s second game, a matchup between the New Orleans Saints and the Philadelphia Eagles, was a battle of wits between two offensive minded head coaches. Although the game was ultimately decided by a late field goal, the real battle was between Chip Kelly and Sean Payton. Chip Kelly’s quarterback...

Eagles fall to Saints, end season at 10-7

It was a tough night for the Eagles. They offense didn’t seem to hit their stride until late in the game, and the run defense was just too porous to hold New Orleans in check on the ground. Nick Foles’ touchdown pass to Zach Ertz late in the game was enough to put the Eagles on top by a point, but their lead wouldn’t last long. After a solid kickoff return, Drew Brees marched...

One last look at the Eagles' loss to New Orleans in 2013 playoffs...

I'm over it now... it was a difficult 24-hour adjustment period of "ACCEPT IT---DEAL WITH IT---MOVE ON..."  My biggest problem was letting go of the once-in-a-decade long shot that comes around every now and then for a "worst-to-first" team in the NFL.  For about fifteen minutes we were that Hollywood story. Imagine the excitement we would be feeling...

Division Roundup: ‘Skins win big scoring tons of talk time

It was a quiet weekend in every NFC East city other than Philadelphia, where the Eagles took on Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints in a late night Saturday showdown. Nick Foles’ explosive offensive we’ve talked about since he took over the starting position didn’t show up until it was too late for the Eagles, trailing by as many as 13 in the third quarter. By the time the...
