The Eagles re-signed King Dunlap yesterday to a 1 year deal. King Dunlap is one of the tallest players in the NFL standing at 6’9 330lbs, mainly used in a backup roll for most of his career, even though he started a couple of game for the Eagles last season. King has started seven games throughout his career, but his most notable game, came when he started vs the Cardinals and was getting ripped apart by defensive End Calais Campbell.
Even though, Dunlap has had come mess ups throughout his playing career, he’s proved to be a solid back up offensive tackle for the Eagles.
King Dunlap was re-signed in large part because of his experience in coming in and being a starter, and also do to the horrific injury that has happened to tackle Jason Peters, rupturing his Achilles Tendon. Even though King Dunlap was re-signed, its almost guaranteed that the Eagles will sign a veteran offensive tackle. Either they can address this issue by signing someone in free agency, or they can go with drafting someone in this upcoming draft that’s less than a month away. The Eagles have have also announced that they are hosting tackle Demetrius Bell today, and they’ve also been in contact with former San Diego Charger Marcus McNeil.
