Pro Sports Daily:
The Philadelphia Eagles signed free agent quarterback Trent Edwards on Thursday.
Edwards and Mike Kafka are expected to vie for the backup job to Michael Vick.
His signed likely means the Eagles will not attempt to sign Vince Young, who started three games last season.
A former third-round pick of the Buffalo Bills, Edwards was out of football last season. He spent time with Buffalo and Jacksonville in 2010.
Edwards has compiled a 14-19 record as a starter with a completion percentage of 60.5.

He's still got to pass his physical... but it looks like Trent Edwards is an Eagles backup QB (#2 or #3 ?)... Public reaction has been mixed, to say the least...Trent Edwards is 28 years old, 6-4 and 231 lbs., and was drafted in the 3rd round out of Stanford by the Buffalo Bills in 2007. Edwards has made 33 starts in the NFL, all but one of them with the Buffalo Bills. He also...
It’s rare for a G.M. give much away on the podium at the Scouting Combine, but Eagles G.M. Howie Roseman made an exception Thursday. Roseman strongly indicated that the team will sign quarterback Trent Edwards shortly. Of course, Roseman could be open about it because Edwards isn’t exactly in high demand. He did not finish…
