The Philadelphia Eagles have selected Miami offensive tackle Brandon Washington with the 200th overall pick in the NFL draft. Washington was chosen with Philadelphia's second pick in the sixth round. The 6-foot-4, 325-pound Washington started 25 games at Miami and projects as a guard in the NFL. Scouting reports say Washington is a versatile lineman with size and strength and the ability to drive defenders off him. Washington is the second lineman the Eagles drafted on Saturday. They previously took Purdue's Dennis Kelly in the fifth round.

Andy Reid and Jim Washburn Have High Praise for Eagles’ #12 Pick Fletcher Cox

Pro Football Hall of Famer Ray Didinger said that of all of the defensive linemen in this year’s draft, DT Fletcher Cox was the best. That’s high praise. And there was a lot more of it from inside of the Eagles organization. In the lead up to the draft, Cox was described universally as a tremendous athlete. At 6’4, 298 lbs, he ran the 40 in 4.79, amazing speed for a player...

With the 88th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Nick Foles, quarterback out of Arizona.  For some this came as a surprise.  Why would the Eagles take a QB in the third round?  They already have Michael Vick and a capable backup in Mike Kafka?  Was Foles taken as future trade bait or

Eagles Tweet of the Week: How’s About A Follow, Mike Vick?

Time for something that’s been on a bit of a hiatus–the Eagles Tweet of the Week. Follow the Newest Members of the Philadelphia Eagles on Twitter

One of the first things I do upon learning of each draft pick by the Eagles is to find them on Twitter and add them to my “Eagles Team” list. Loving both football and Twitter comes in quite handy sometimes. The social media component may not be the first thought for everyone, so for those who are catching up, I’m going to make it very easy for you. Below is a list of the Twitter...

Philadelphia Eagles: NFL Draft news and notes

One round down, six round to go. Tonight is the second and third rounds of the NFL Draft, which I can guarantee will be more interesting than the first round. The first round of the draft is usually pretty obvious with little to no surprises. While I was wrong with what player I thought the Eagles would select, I did get the position correct. The Philadelphia Eagles traded up to...

These Are Not the Same Old Philadelphia Eagles

Finally giving DeSean Jackson a contract extension after a holdout and sometimes contentious 2011 season is just one of the things you can point to in identifying a change in the Eagles' culture. When I found out that the Eagles had moved up in the NFL draft last night, I had to do a double take. I stared extra hard at the screen to make sure what I was seeing wasn’t some imagined...

In an interview with the Philadelphia media, Eagles head coach Andy Reid was asked about the state of their running backs and interestingly enough he admitted they overplayed LeSean McCoy. “We’ll see how it goes. We’re good with young guys and we’ll see how that works out. With Dion (Lewis), I would have liked to have gotten him a little more time last year as we went on...
