Eagles vs. Browns Week 1 Analysis

By SBRForum.com

Expectations are sky high for the mega-talented Philadelphia Eagles, meaning they should have little trouble picking up the win over the Browns in Week 1.

That's why they play the game though. Anything can happen.

Nonetheless, the Eagles are indeed stacked on both offense and defense and that's why they're favored in the NFL odds over the Cleveland Browns this Sunday.

Michael Vick is reportedly fully healthy and will begin the season as the starter. His main targets in the passing game will be Jeremy Maclin, DeSean Jackson, Jason Avant and Brent Celek.

It helps that Vick will be able to count on a highly productive running back in LeSean McCoy to take some of the pressure off. McCoy had over 1,600 total yards and accounted for 20 touchdowns as well. He should continue to be the focal point of the offense, even more so in Week 1 against Cleveland's lackluster run defense.

On the other side of the ball, Philadelphia has a number of playmakers that should be able to stifle Brandon Weeden and the inexperienced Browns offensive unit.

Jason Babin and Trent Cole is a crazy good tandem on either side of the line and then the Eagles went out and addressed a weakness at linebacker by signing free agent DeMeco Ryans from the Houston Texans.

That secondary is a tough bunch too. Nnamdi Asomugha, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Nate Allen? Yes please.

As you can see, all the pieces are in place for Philadelphia to really contend this season. The past few years have been full of disappointment and it's about time the Eagles realized their full potential.

They face a relatively easy Week 1 opponent, at least on paper, leaving the door open for Andy Reid's men to build up some momentum early on in the season.
