PLAYERS: Chris Gocong
TEAMS: Cleveland Browns
The Eagles will bring in free agent LBs Chris Gocong and Gerald McRath for tryouts during the team’s rookie minicamp this weekend, via PhiladelphiaEagles.com Gocong, 29, and McRath, 26, will be the only two veteran players in attendance this weekend. Both players suffered serious injuries last year as Gocong tore his Achilles and McRath torn left patella tendon. It’s not going to be easy for either player to make the team, but they’ll at least get a shot to impress the Eagles new coaching staff this weekend.     The post Eagles Will Bring In Free Agent LBs Chris Gocong &Gerald McRath For Tryouts This Weekend appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.

We’re deep into the off-season now that the draft is over, but that doesn’t mean it’s quiet now in and around the Cleveland Browns. In the case of this week and the things that are happening, quiet would be a relief. So let’s get on with it. On Armonty Bryant… Let’s just say that a seventh round draft pick shouldn’t be making noise in the press a week prior to showing...

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam III Embarrassed by more than the quality of football in Cleveland. He’s sorry.

In his first public appearance in the Cleveland area since the FBI-IRS raid on his family business, Jimmy Haslam III, says he is sorry about taking the focus away from football. He also continues to say he is embarrassed. Remember after the raid when Haslam made a statement saying how this was about a couple of unpaid rebates? He is now saying he has contacted 250-300 trucking companies...

Jimmy Haslam needs to step down as Browns owner immediately

The Cleveland Browns seem to find themselves in a midst of trouble thanks to new owner Jimmy Haslam. To NFL fans, we knew he was a minority owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers who became the owner of AFC North rival Cleveland Browns last year. What NFL fans may not know is he owns a company called Pilot Flying J, which has 500 gas stations all over the country and Pilot is in trouble... Read more

Browns receiving corps ranked fourth in their division by Jamison Hensley

Jamison Hensley of ESPN is ranking all the position groups in the AFC North and he has decided where they all fall when it comes to receivers. The Cleveland Browns, despite a recent trade for Devone Bess and despite the exit of Anquan Boldin from Baltimore, are last in Hensley’s mind. The Steelers take the top spot and the Bengals with the league’s very best receiver, A.J. Green...

NFL fears that Pilot Flying J lawsuit could drain Jimmy Haslam, undermine Browns

Several team officials are reportedly saying they believe it may be extremely difficult for Jimmy Haslam III to keep his ownership of the Cleveland Browns. CBS Sports’ Mike Freeman reports that, because Haslam may be “ensnared by a myriad of lawsuits and legal actions,” Haslam could experience a significant drain to his finances, preventing him from keeping the team he...

When you have a quarterback battle between the likes of Brandon Weeden and Jason Campbell, you know it might be a long season. But thankfully...

Greetings from Pittsburgh...and Gocong gets a look...

Pittsburgh is a beautiful city now. It's not the smoky river town I remember as a kid. The traffic downtown, though, is a congested mess. Maybe that's partly because the Penguins had a playoff game at home last night. But it looks like a case of too many vehicles, not enough roadway. The Steelers fans I talked with at Uncle Joe Pandl's viewing were quite aware of...

Philadelphia Eagles rookie camp preview: Who’s signed, who’s attending

On the eve of the first rookie camp under Chip Kelly, the Philadelphia Eagles were busy getting down to other business with their rookies—getting five of the team’s draft picks signed. Included in that group are second-round pick TE Zach Ertz, fifth-round safety Earl Wolff, and seventh-rounders DE Joe Kruger, CB Jordan Poyner and DE David King. This means that three of the team’s...

Andrew and I got rolling and in what seemed like a few minutes, 50 of those bad boys went floating by. We talked about some business of sports by comparing it to the business of the music industry. We talked about the NBA playoffs, the Cavs, the Browns draft and pretty much everything else other than the Indians. We like the Indians though. Spotify and the business of music Ben...

What’s the opposite of transparency?

“My feeling is that we need to present a different picture of this organization. It’s been stale. It has not done well. I don’t think people view the Browns in a positive light. My perception from the outside was that the Browns just weren’t successful. They weren’t energetic or forward-thinking. I’m not afraid of transparency. Most of what we do here — there’s no...
