Ok with the recent drafting of DeSean Jackson and 3 more UFDA signings and possibly Bowman that makes 14 WR's on the Eagles roster. So who Emerges out of this group to make a real impact on this team. Besides Brown Curtis and Jackson, who else are we looking to make things happen down the field? We know Avant, Baskett, and G-Lew barely saw the field last season, so can we count on them having impressive enough camps to make a real difference in case one of the aforementioned were to go down. I'm hoping that Brown and Baskett can get their acts together and be more consistent, I want Brown to be productive all season not just at the end of the season where he some how magically comes alive. I liked what Curtis came in and provided, I have to say I was one of his biggest doubters when he was signed, mainly because I was hoping the Eagles got Moss that year.
But now I'm confident in Curtis in what he's done and hopefully continue to do. But the others I'm not so high on, meaning the ones that were already here. Rookies, the only one I have faith in is DeSean, as for the others I dont know, I hear that MCBride could be a darkhorse to make the team and Tommy Lawlor tells me that Golden has an NFL body. He's made for the WCO. He can catch short passes and fight for yards after the catch. He is a limited athlete, but could make it as a role player and ST'er. I'm not saying a few of these kids wont amount to much, but if we're looking for the Eagles to make big plays down the field who will it be? Your guess is as good as mine, I do like the fact that we have a lot of competition at this spot. Hopefully some of these guys can take the spots of Michael Gasperson, Bill Sampy, Jamal Jones, and Greg Lewis. I like Baskett and Avant, I hope to see them on the field, and making big plays.
For the life of me I dont see why for the past 3 years Gasperson and Sampy havent been able to crack the roster, is it them or our WR's coach? It's crazy to me, I honestly cant hate on them that much cuz I've never seen them in action, but damn something has to be wrong with them, like I said if it aint them its the coach.
