The Eagles and Cardinals announced their Week 10 inactive players:Eagles: S Nate Allen, DE Philip Hunt, T Winston Justice, G Evan Mathis, WR DeSean Jackson, QB Mike Kafka, CB Curtis MarshCardinals: T D'Anthony Batiste, TE Todd Heap, TE Rob Housler, QB Kevin Kolb, LB Joey Porter, S Kerry Rhodes, WR Stephen WilliamsDeSean Jackson has been benched by the Eagles for missing a meeting. Though he apparently just overslept, this sure looks like the beginning of the end for Jackson with the Birds. He definitely won't be getting that mega-contract now. Jason Avant will start in his place. King Dunlap will also start for Evan Mathis at guard. That should be interesting.Kevin Kolb will not play for the Cardinals, as expected. John Skelton gets the start at quarterback.Even with Jackson out, this is a very winnable game for the Eagles. With games against the Giants and Patriots coming in the next few weeks, if there is any hope for playoffs at all for the Birds, this is a must-win.

DeSean Jackson Going From Super-Star to Super Nuisance in Philadelphia

It has been a very long time since I’ve last felt this disappointed in the Philadelphia Eagles; it has been less time since I’ve been this disappointed in a player. But as the Eagles fell to the Cardinals 17-21 and a 3-6 record, I can’t help but to look at Eagles two-time pro bowl receiver [...]

Philadelphia Eagles: Would a Week 10 Eagles Win and Giants Loss Restore Hope?

A Philadelphia Eagles win, coupled with a New York Giants loss, would bring the Eagles back to within two games of the NFC East lead.  That would be followed by a Week 11 showdown with the Giants that could potentially bring the Eagles to within only one game of the lead. Would that be enough to start renewing playoff hope for Eagles fans? The Eagles have an anti-climatic game this...

Eagles QB Michael Vick Suffers 2 Broken Ribs In Sunday’s Loss To Cardinals

So much for that dream season for the Eagles. Terrible record (3-6), issue with DeSean Jackson- apparently his contract uncertainty has led to locker room “issues.” Jackson was held out of Sunday’s game after oversleeping and missing a team meeting Saturday- aren’t the only problems with the Eagles right now. Starting QB Michael Vick suffered two broken ribs...

The Unexpected Absence Of Jackson Exposed Reid And Vick

There’s no question that DeSean Jackson was missed by the Eagles yesterday. His attitude has been in the pits for awhile now.  He missed a Special Teams meeting on Saturday and that led Andy Reid to deactivate him for the game versus the Cardinals.  His spokesman, Bobby McRae says his missing of the meeting was [...]

Michael Vick Struggles As Eagles Offense Comes Up Short, Again

What a disgrace. Seriously, there’s really nothing else to write. The Eagles offense laid another egg Sunday, this time against the lowly Arizona Cardinals. People will point to the two 80+ yard drives the defense gave up to some guy named John Skelton, and rightfully so, but the fact of the matter is the Eagles [...]

Michael Vick And Eagles Offense With Dismal Performance

The Eagles played one of the most uninspired football games I’ve ever seen against the lowly Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.  This team look uninterested from the get go and that feeling lasted throughout.  Maybe they were looking ahead to the showdown with the Giants next week on Sunday night but the fact is that game [...]

Vick, Maclin and DRC were playing hurt...explains a little, but not a lot...

Turns out Eagles WR supreme Jeremy Maclin was playing with a sprained shoulder and strained hamstring. No wonder he did not look like himself against the Cardinals. We also find out Michael Vick was gaming on two broken ribs---whaaaa? (insert Chris Berman scream there). It happened on the second play of the game, apparently, but Vick insisted on playing through it... I admire his...
