Eagles,Cheap?????????

Now that the Eagles and Brian Westbrook have come to terms on a restructured contract, is it possible that the perception of the Birds front office being cheap can finally be put to rest? Maybe this is just an unusual circumstance, but you have to give Todd France and Joe Banner their props for getting this done prior to the season. It was great to see both sides focused on the issue at hand and not turning it into a circus through the media like the T.O. debacle. Can we now say the Eagles take care of their own?"It's a very complicated deal. They hung in there," Banner said. "There was never one single moment, privately, where there was any threat. "I'm not playing in the game, I'm not coming to camp." They couldn't have been more positive or professional throughout the whole thing." Smiling, Banner finds it hard to believe the renegotiation will help to curb the stigma of stinginess the Eagles' front office has developed over the past decade. He said the Eagles analyze every situation differently to ensure that players are treated fairly, but the accusations still linger. "We don't sit here with a bunch of hard and fast rules. We have guidelines, we have basic philosophies that we try to stay consistent with," Banner said. "But on the other hand, we always try to approach individual situations and address what we think the position warrants. I think we all can agree that of the many players who have come through Philly, BDub is most deserving. Basically he has carried this team every year. Through the drama with T.O. as well as the McNabb injuries ect. Does this mean the next super star that has "outplayed" his contract will be compensated? Only time will tell, but possibly it has stymied the perception that the Eagles and their front office is cheap. Your thoughts are welcomed......
