To Mike Dee: I have a great idea that will sell more tickets and get the fans into the stadium - blackout all games like the last three that we have seen. Ouch!
This morning on my Facebook feed, I saw a great post from Matt at Phin Addicts, and I want to share it here:
"So, it was another tough loss for the Dolphins. Michael Irvin, Marshall Faulk and Steve Mariucci all agreed after the game, That there is no way Reggie Bush or Ryan Tannehill could flourish in this offense, given the state of the OL and lack of play makers at the WR/TE position. And i totally agree. Teams stack the box to take away the run game, because they know we have no play makers on the outside. The OL has become worse than last year (and that's saying A LOT)! And as much as Dolphins fans LOVE Brian Hartline and Davone Bess, Hartline is just a solid #2 and Bess is a beast #3 in the slot. And Fasano, well he is decent at the TE position, but doesn't scare anyone. He would be a very reliable #2 TE. And you KNOW the offense is lacking talent, when they're playing Bess (4.64 speed) as a deep threat. LIKE REALLY?? I couldn't believe they were doing that! And to think, the Dolphins were in Playoff talk with a 4-3 record, less than 2 weeks ago. But after 3 straight losses (in 12 days), they sit at 4-6 and words like "hope" & "promise" have been replaced by "inept" & "same old Dolphins". The truth is, the Dolphins are showing very little (if any) progress from last years 6-10 team. Some players are actually regressing. And with the Seahawks, 49ers, Patriots, Jags, Bills and Patriots as the final 6 games, all that's left to do is follow in the immortal words of Jim Mora....."Playoffs? Don't talk about... Playoffs? You kidding me? PLAYOFFS? I just hope we can win a game!" - Matt"
Well said Matt.
I guess we have to look back at the success that we had against the Jets and ask "What was different with the team?' The first thing that comes to mind is Matt Moore. Would Matt Moore have done better in the last three games? Ever since Ryan Tannehill's injury in the Jets game, he has not been the same. Obviously the opposing teams are watching our films and have shut down the Miami offense. I'd like to see Matt in there one more time, just to put this argument to rest.
Somehow Coaches Philbin and Sherman need to try something new that the other teams haven't seen. Is it time to go back to the Wildcat? I get a chill down my spine just thinking about it.
With all of this said, my Dolphins are my Dolphins, do or die. I hope that an adjustment can be made from this point onward as the scheduke is not getting any easier by far.
On a bright note, way to go Thigpen with that great 98-yard kickoff return in the first quarter. You almost became a game-changer, but sad that the offense could not deliver.
Happy Thanksgiving to all Finatics - Finatic Bob became a first time grandpa this week, so it's time for bedtime stories to the little guy about Czonka and Shula and Marino and Thomas. Enjoy the holidays and more football than we can handle!
