New Houston Texans safety Ed Reed is currently rehabbing in Atlanta after surgery to repair a torn labrum and is focusing on being ready when training camp begins in July.
“I had a long conversation with Ed yesterday,” head coach Gary Kubiak said, via the team's official website. “I think he actually got back to Atlanta on Saturday. We have him in a rehab program there in Atlanta.”
Hopefully all goes well for both Reed and the Texans, who were caught a bit off guard when ti was learned that Reed needed surgery. They signed him to a three-year, $15 million deal in March prior to the injury news.
Reed will also take a quick break from rehab to join his former Baltimore Ravens to collect his Super Bowl ring and visit the White House in June. “That’s pretty important for him to get that stuff done there, but he will be back here as we approach the mandatory minicamp and be here for the rehab process,” Kubiak said. “So you guys should see him in about a week.”
