On two separate occasions this offseason, we’ve heard that Ed Reed will be back in Baltimore for an eleventh season.
But, what we didn’t know is if the eight-time Pro Bowler had his druthers, he’d play well beyond 2012.
After being inducted into the University of Miami Hall of Fame, Reed reiterated to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that he ‘wants to play football’, but cautioned that his mind is not completely made up.
“There’s a lot of talk out there. I’m not going to say I’m 50-50 because I’m not. I want to play football,” Reed said. “But it’s something me and my team have been discussing the last couple of weeks. …I plan on doing it, but depending, it could change.”
Just how much longer can we expect to see the Canton-bound safety roam the Ravens’ secondary? He added that another four to five years in the NFL “is a reality to me.”
“If it was up to me, I’d be with a walking cane out there,” Reed emphasized.

If you’re a Baltimore Ravens fan, the most thrilling moment in this team’s franchise history came 11 years ago, when the Ravens hoisted the Lombardi Trophy. Could that have really been the greatest team in NFL history? It’s certainly an intriguing question because the 2000 Ravens have advanced to the finals of the “Greatest Team [...]
In case you didn’t realize it, there’s another college basketball tourney currently taking place. Stanford happens to be in it, and before their semifinal game against UMass on Tuesday, noted NFL lunatic Ray Lewis dropped by the Cardinal’s locker room for a pre-game pep talk. The message was simple (“every day is a new day” yadda yadda yadda), but, my goodness, did he...

Ray Lewis always wants the world to know how good he is at inspiring people by screaming platitudes at them. If you’re not familiar with what I’m talking about, you surely haven’t seen any of his finer feats in camera mugging on the sideline before Ravens games. It’s what I dislike most about Ray Lewis. Well, that and everything else.
That said, I very much enjoy the idea...
Ray Lewis is a very tough autograph and it is very easy to spot fakes as his signature is so unique. The cards above were obtained years ago and then sent to a friend who did a private signing in Miami, Florida; they were beautifully done as he sat in his hotel room and wasn’t rushed by tons of people. If you went up to Ray these days coming out of the stadium or...
Former Baltimore Ravens defensive end, Cory Redding, bolted for Indianapolis when free agency began earlier this month, as he joined former Ravens defensive coordinator, Chuck Pagano, who was named the Colts’ new head coach in late January. While Redding, 31, was a great fit along the Ravens’ defensive line, his exit leaves a void and [...]
If you’re looking for something to get you juiced up for the weekend, take a quick listen to Baltimore Ravens All-World linebacker Ray Lewis give the Stanford men’s basketball team the speech of a lifetime. Lewis delivered the pep talk before Stanford’s NIT semifinal game against UMass on Tuesday. The former Super Bowl MVP was just a little fired up.

After finishing his final NFL season with the Baltimore Ravens, Ricky Williams decided to retire and call it a career.

Now the picture's shaping up for the Ravens' 29th pick in the upcoming Draft in late April. They might even end up trading back that first-round selection to get more picks in later rounds. One thing's for sure: Ozzie Newsome sets up the draft by using free agency to fill needs first--- then takes the best player available. (Last year was atypical of Oz' classic...
